Thakoon Spring 2013
Time to stash those oxblood nail polish and burgundy lipsticks away into your makeup drawer, because we’re saying hello blooming up to welcome the season of Spring and its delightful offerings in the beauty department. By keeping a sharp eye on the street for inspiration, we’ve gathered a number of beauty trends for Spring 2013 that you can’t afford to miss out on!
1. Coral Crush
Coral’s a blend of red and orange hues that can either come off as loud, or bright enough to add a little oomph to your look. Whether it’s on your lips or your nails, a coral hue definitely adds an extra spark as opposed to plain old red.

2. Floral Reds and Pinks
Now that spring is in bloom, we can’t forgo the key element that inspires the season – flowers. Pinks and reds is just about as romantic as it gets this season, so theres no reason to miss out on these shades. Find hues inspired by red dahlias, pink primrose flowers, and you should blossom throughout the season!
3. Bold Brows
Deal with it. Bold brows are going nowhere. Keeping it perfectly groomed is the key step to defining all of your facial features, but this season bold brows are only getting bolder. But instead of enhancing the brows, it seems like they’re getting an update in their shape, while manipulating the arches. Dare to try

4. Minimalist Manes
Last year, hair trends got a little complicated as braids made a comeback in various forms – from the mermaid braid to Heidi-esque ones, and even that super chic top bun that’s not really as easy as you think. You can rest easy this season because hair is going back to a simpler time with minimalist features. Think low ponytails and clean parts for cool, sophisticated and easy-breezy style.
5. Deep Parts
Deep parts were so 2005! Remember who would rock those deep parts? The ‘Emo’ kids did. But this season, deep parts are making a comeback with various options like the zig-zag, diagonal parts, and even faux undercuts. Drama is where the deep parts stand this year. And you don’t really need a makeover. Deep parts are all about getting creative, and with the help of a few tools like a rat-tail comb, wax and shine serum, you can switch up your look everyday!
6. Go Green
Green is a serious color to pull off, but worry less because it’s one of the It-colors of the season. Believe it or not, dark green looks great on every skin tone, so if you want to take it slow, start with coating your nails green, or giving your dark smokey look a touch of funk by lining your eyes with green crayon. Don’t stick to just one shade of green though – luxe tones like jade is definitely one to fall head over heels over!
