Jumpsuits are the fashion item that just keeps going back and forth into a trend. From our grandmothers, to our mothers and now to us… everyone has had jumpsuits in the category of trends during their time.
Now, it’s the trend that is starting to appear more and more often on the red carpets – celebrities are wearing it, and they are making sure it looks good. Stars like Sarah Jessica Parker and Eva Longoria are big fans of this trend.
But, none the less, jumpsuits have always been on of those risky dubbed fashion pieces. Why? Because you can’t put on any jumpsuit and expect it to look good – it either goes both ways… Really good or really bad. To save you from all of that, we’re listing down some of the basic ‘Dos and Don’ts’ that you should keep in mind when looking for the perfect jumpsuit to suit you.
1. DO pair it with a blazer
The beauty of a jumpsuit is being able to pair it up with blazer and you will look as chic as ever. Adding a blazer to it all will make you look that much more classy and proper. In other words, you’ll be that sophisticated woman that everyone talks about.
2. DON’T wear a tuxedo
This is the biggest mistake more people make when it comes to wearing a jumpsuit. A tuxedo version of a jumpsuit is not appealing! It’s not sexy, it’s not sophisticated… it’s just plain messy!
3. DO wear it all black
If you want to stay on the safe side, then grab yourself a black jumpsuit. It hides all the empire line issues and you don’t have to worry about looking not in proportion.
4. DON’T lose your waist
When it comes to a jumpsuit, it is important to always notice what the issues on the empire line is. You don’t want you’re body to look too long up top and your legs to look too short – vice versa.
5. DO make sure it flows
Wearing a jumpsuit that is loose and that flows will give the illusion that it’s a maxi yet a jumpsuit. Plus, with that extra bit of comfort. How could you resist?
6. DON’T wear it too tight
Let’s face it, Cat-woman is the only one who’ll ever be able to pull of the skin tight catsuit. If you’re planning to wear a jumpsuit, get the right side. Nobody wants to see VPL’s and what not. Stay safe and take the right route into all this.
7. DO dress it up
Accessories are probably the best thing you can play with when it comes to a jumpsuit – match it up with different jewels and just have fun.
