In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Prosperity Burger, McDonald’s kick-starts its ‘Prosperity Gives Back’ campaign to raise funds for 68 local charity homes on 19th and 20th January 2013. This is McDonald’s third year doing the campaign and over these two days, every purchase of a Prosperity Meal will donates RM1 to the ‘Prosperity Gives Back’ campaign.

The charity drive was held at  McDonald’s Kota Damansara and the Managing Director of McDonald’s Malaysia and Regional Manager of McDonald’s, Sarah Casonova expressed:

“I would like to thank Malaysians for their support for Prosperity Gives Back – A Weekend Of Sharing. Charity starts with giving back to your local community and Prosperity Gives Back enables Malaysians to do exactly that.”

McDonald’s also believes in the tens values of ‘PROSPERITY’, which is Happiness, Friendship, Love, Satisfaction, Peace, Abundance, Sharing, Family, Affection and Joy. Malaysians were seen queuing patiently in ‘Joy’ as they place their orders for the Prosperity Meal. The Prosperity Meals was served to the public by the radio DJs and celebrity volunteers who also supported the charity drive includes Leya of HotFM, Phat Fabes of FlyFM and Nicholas from OneFM, plus 8TV Quickie hosts Julie Woon and Megan Tan, as well as violinist Dennis Lau and actress and singer Chelsia Ng.

Families and children from Pusat Jagaan Rumah Kesayangan were treated to a day of fun and laughter as Ronald McDonald also made a surprise appearance during the charity drive.

“It was a very thoughtful event organised by McDonald’s to help those in need. I am very happy to see so many people, celebrities and McDonald’s Managing Director, Sarah Casanova attend this event and work hand in hand together to make it a success,”  said blogger Peter Lim from Petaling Jaya who brought his five year-old son Ruben along.

Living by the spirit of Prosperity Gives Back, Malaysians can take the chance to share real life stories with the 10 Values of Prosperity on McDonald’s microsite which was made available last December. The best heart-warming stories will be selected and published in leading newspapers to shared among Malaysians. You can also to hear stories of true ‘PROSPERITY’ shared by our fellow Malaysians here.
