For most people, wearing a sweater in hot, humid weather is just as crazy as wearing a bikini in winter. But for some, breaking the fashion rut is what they do to stand out from the crowd, and it’s probably just a matter of preference. Surprisingly, the sweater is slowly earning its place in the fashion trend and we are seeing more people wearing thick sweaters or cardigans in summer weather. While many are still bewildered by the idea of sweater in the hot weather, we are totally digging this trend and found six trendy ways to wear a sweater, especially for spring/summer season.

1. With collared shirt

Pairing a sweater with collared shirt is the epitome of the preppy-chic look. But with the right accessories, the preppy chic look can transform into a casual edgy look too. Gem and studs embellished sweater also added another style to the preppy chic look.

2. Graphic sweater

Ever since 3.1 Phillip Lim and Givenchy showed us their graphic sweater collection, we are loving this fresh way to layer up and cozy down. The catchy phrase and cool graphics got us hooked and we can see how this trend has started to crept up among us!

3. Colour block

Colour-blocking may not be the latest trend but we are still loving the fun and playful way of styling an outfit. A colour-block sweater is definitely a must-have in your wardrobe, but do be smart on the colour choices and wear no more than 3 colours.

4. With pencil skirt

While most people prefer wearing the sweater with a simple pair of jeans, a sweater with a pencil skirt gives a perfect blend of stylish and sophistication. In fact, it is one of the looks donned by many street style fashionistas especially during fashion week.

5. With shorts

Wearing a sweater with shorts used to make most people cringe because it makes no difference with wearing shorts with UGG boots. However, this is no longer the problem as wearing a sweater with shorts can be as trendy as wearing it with jeans too, especially wearing it in the warm months.

6. With prints

Perhaps one of the coolest way to style up your sweater is to wear it with prints. Go for a bolder prints and tone it down with a pair of plain skinny jeans. However, for those who prefer to dress it down, wearing a plain coloured sweater with a printed jeans also make a statement look. The keyword for the look is the prints.
