We like to live according to the quote, “Every day is a fashion show and the world is your runway”. We see the world as our runway and we do need to dress up a little to make sure it’s presentable and neat. But in most day in our office, we tend to throw away the formality and dress down a little in chic casual clothing. It’s not like we take fashion too seriously, but we do take account of every details in our outfits so that we weren’t caught in the frame of fashion disaster.
Of course, we’ve all been through the horrific moment when we’re off-guard over this situation but it’s forgivable. However, there are some things you’ll never see in our wardrobes, and they shouldn’t be in your wardrobe either! Despite the comfort they bring us, they are the biggest fashion pet peeves and trust us, you’ll never see us in these unless we are forced to. We’ll show you our 6 biggest fashion faux pas, and if you have one of these, perhaps we’ll give you a better alternative too.
1. Fanny packs
Why choose a small fanny back when there are many different kind of bags for you to keep your essentials? Fanny packs were never intended to be made fashionable anyways. So if you wanted to keep your essentials, we suggest you to get a clutch or a perhaps small cross-body bag instead for a more fashionable look. The fanny pack is just a big no-no.
2. Crocs
We can never understood the crocs trend and we’d never want to know. We’ve heard people say they wear it for comfort and convenience but with its rubber material, we can’t be sure about that. In fact, there are several cases involving children getting into accidents when their rubber shoes got stuck in the escalators. Crocs have to the potential to be life hazards, so shouldn’t that be a reason to get rid of them?
3. Adult Onesies
You probably can’t see us crying behind the screen but that’s how we’re feeling at the moment. We get it, this is a perfect slip-on outfit especially all you want to do is just snuggle up on your bed with a good film. Or perhaps onesies could be your costume when you’re having an animal or cartoon characters theme party. But these are the only reasons you wear them and the only acceptable wear in the privacy of your own home. Let’s just say what stays indoors should just stay indoor, under no circumstances they should be seen in the public. But either way, you wouldn’t see them in our wardrobe.
4. Sporty Sunglasses
Unless you are surfer or a professional athlete, we just don’t see how sporty sunglasses will look good on daily basis. Again, when there are many different kind of sunglasses for us to choose from, so why opt for sporty sunglasses? The frame doesn’t complement the face and the glasses certainly won’t make it any better! To be honest, wearing sporty sunglasses just reminds us of Cyclops from X-Men. For the sake of fashion, just wear it for sports, and nothing else.
5. Slogan Tees
Oh, the oh-so-popular slogan tee that has been around for years and we are still seeing them on trend and even behind the shopping windows. The quotes on the tee may reflect your personality or how you’re feeling, but most people certainly do not care and might act skeptical towards the personality you’re trying to convey. Not unless you have a sense of humour or the shirt is for charity, slogan tee is basically not in the list of fashionable item. The block alphabets on the tee with the Slogan tee is just one of the trends we want it to die down.
6. UGG boots
Apparently, uggs are pretty popular in Asian countries especially in China, Japan and Korea. Jimmy Choo collaboration with UGG also made it becomes the ‘it’ item, thus making all the women going crazy over the UGG boots. Sure, the collection was pretty good but for now, this trend just need to go.
