The airport may not have a stylebook but we can’t help thinking that your attire is entirely important wherever you go, even at the airport! When it comes to air travel, we all have different perceptions on the outfit we are going. Most travelers prefer comfortable outfits as long flights can be incredibly tedious and all you yearn for in the plane is to be comfortable. And when we say ‘comfortable’, we certainly don’t mean wearing your pyjamas to the airport. The airport is still a public place and if you don’t get what we mean, standard dress codes is a rule a fashionista should follow, even though the airport hasn’t really set a rule on that yet.
Here are some essential looks that you can try wear to look both chic and comfortable at the airport!
1. Jumper
Opt for jumper instead of basic tee if you’re trying to achieve the simple and comfortable look. Knit jumpers are recommended for an effortless look. But choose solid color as you’ll be able to accessorize easily.
2. Cardigan
When traveling, you’ll encounter different changes in the weather. Whether you’re traveling from a sunny seascape to an ice-cold fantasy, it takes a lot for your body to adapt to the temperature change. Jackets and cardigans can keep you warm from the chilly weather. A denim or leather jacket would be the best to bring your outfit up a notch. If necessary, a coat is another option too if you can’t handle the cold.
3. Scarves
If basic top, jeans and ballet flats are your picks on comfortable clothing, adding a statement scarf on your outfit wouldn’t be so bad at all. They add a touch of glam to your simple outfit and the layered look is effortlessly stylish.
Long-haul flights can often make you feel tired and sleepy, A pair of sunglasses will come in handy to cover up your tired eyes and it’ll instantly make you look ultra-chic at the airport! And if you’re lucky, people could even mistaken you as the celebrities with that cover-up!
5. Jeggings
Skinny jeans can get uncomfortable and if it’s tight might even affect your health. Leggings are great too, but can be very loose and it might even give people a peek of your undies due to its thin fabric. Jeggings give the best of comfort and style. They are of body-hugging materials and are fitted to give a chic look without having to sacrifice comfort. Pair it with an oversized vintage t-shirt for a rugged-casual feel.
6. Hats
Instead of pulling your hair up, we opted for another chic accessory that will cover up your messy hair after the long flights. The bowler and wide-brim hat will always look cool at the airport and they’re totally in trend right now.
7. Comfy Shoes
Loafers, sneakers, ballet flats and sandals are the perfect shoes to wear to the airport! They are easy to slip on and slip off in the security line and are extremely helpful when you are rushing to get on the last flight! Don’t even bother wearing boots or heels at the airport if comfort comes to you first.
8. Small bags
Tote bags and cross-body bags are the bags where you keep the essentials wherever you go including the airport. The bag should be small enough to fit that it doesn’t weigh you down, but big enough to put all the necessary things you need in the plane.
