This year was filled with crazy amazing blockbusters and in order to get a good blockbuster, you’re going to need to the right actors/actress’ to fill the roles. We’re taking a look at actors and actress’ that really made it big last year. The spotlight was on them!
1. Jennifer Lawrence
Seen in: The Hunger Games, Silver Linings Playbook, House at the End of the Street
She fought her way to the top of the box office and got the spotlight after staring in The Hunger Games. To top that off, Jennifer Lawrence gave an Oscar-worthy performance in the critically acclaimed movie, Silver Linings Playbook. She is the kind of actress who takes up completely different roles to show what she has in store. From a horror movie, to an action-adventure movie… Jennifer Lawrence is the true vision of an actress. She’s just gifted.
2. Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Seen In: Dark Night Rises, Looper, Premium Rush, Lincoln
Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been around for over a decade, but none the less, this was his year to shine. He’s always been known for taking up ‘indie’ films but this year, he took on a roll in the billion-dollar blockbuster, Dark Knight Rises and also one of the most-looked forward films, Looper. It’s safe to say that this was his year.
3. Kristen Stewart
Seen In: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, Snow White and the Huntsman, On the Road
Her popularity has been growing ever since the outburst of Twilight, but this year, Kristen took it to the next level and got herself involved in one of the top 15 highest grossing films of the year, Snow White and The Huntsman. The actress proved that she hold her own ground outside the world of Twilight.
4. Channing Tatum
Seen In: 21 Jump Street, Magic Mike, The Vow
This man is on the way to becoming Hollywood’s next true superstar. He starred in some of the most wanted movies this year which includes Magic Mike and The Vow. It’s all because of the Magic Mike, people started to pay more attention to him and the hot-bod that comes along with that face. None the less, he showed everyone that he can act. Dabbling in a little comedy with 21 Jump Street and a heart-felt love story in The Vow… It’s been a good year for him… in his personal life too.
5. Anne Hathaway
Seen In: The Dark Knight Rises, Les Miserables
When you think of Anne Hathaway, we’re pretty sure The Devil Wears Prada comes into mind – but it looks like Anne Hathaway has really grown out of that phase. In fact, she’s starting to prove her acting skills even more this year. First she takes on the action block buster The Dark Knight Rises as Catwoman (and does a pretty good job with it, if you ask us) and then she takes on the most popular (and challenging) musical out there, Les Miserables. She really is an A-lister.
