Let’s talk about love for a change. For most of us who spent a lot of our time catching up with our favorite shows on the telly, it’s safe to say that it’s one of the ways we’ve learned a thing or two about love and romance, and a lot of that came from some of the most well-loved couples. Here’s a list of our favorite couples in television.
1. Meredith and Derek
Ah, the ballad of Meredith and McDreamy! Meredith’s relationship with Derek is possibly one of the most complex romances out there. The on-and-off relationships only meant that they were meant for each other, and no matter what, would still fall back in each other’s arms! And despite all the hardship, and Meredith’s neurotic fear of marriage, they still ended up getting married, and were graced with a new adopted bundle of joy.
2. Chandler and Monica
Who would’ve thought that Monica and Chandler would end up being ‘Chandler and Monica’? You have the tad OCD, and always willing to please girl, and the funny guy with that funny name. If you remember, Monica used to have a crush on Chandler, and remember the first time Chandler the time her told Monica he loved her? Yes, she had a turkey on her head, and that just shows that funny guys can be so romantic when you least expect it.
3. Claire and Phil Dunphy
Who wouldn’t love an modern couple in a Modern Family! Although they are a fairly common stereotype among married couples – a naggy mom, and a youthful dad who wants to be hip, their love and affections still stand out, putting the show into place. We can’t imagine where we’d be without Claire and Phil!
4. Marshall and Lily
Who wouldn’t love a night in watching Marshall and Lily being the perfect couple that everyone else wished they were. Well, with Marshall’s great sense of humour and Lily’s hilarious quirks, it’s hard not to fall in love with them.
5. Cameron and Mitchell
Seems like Modern Family could be winners, giving us a list of couples to love, and why not give it a dash of diversity with a gay couple? Cameron and Mitchell are amazing together. There’s Cam, who can be quite the diva at times, but occasionally pulling through with his manliness of growing in a farm, and then there’s Mitchell. Sensitive, soft, academic and quite a princess at times. Watching them is always filled with laughter, and who wouldn’t love seeing a gay couple on the screen for a change!
6. Leonard and Penny
Ah! Isn’t it just refreshing for boys to know that not all good guys finish last? And girls, Leonard is just an example that not all geeks only want to talk about their nerdy indulgences. Like you, they want to love, be loved and they’re more likely to give you more attention that they guy who spends a good 20 minutes trying to get his hair right! Leonard and Penny are adorable – two seasons of Leonard being friend-zoned, and finally the sparks fly! So girls, don’t diss any nerd that tries to talk to you. He might end up being the love of your life!
7. Don and Betty Draper
There’s no denying that Don and Betty were made for each other! He’s amazingly handsome and well-groomed ad man, she’s the drop-dead gorgeous housewife who was a former model. Despite Don’s infidelity, we find it hard to admit that they make one of the most beautiful couples to ever exist in television history.
