There is nothing more glamorous than to be the most outstanding catwalk pro to represent your country!
The 2012 New Star Model Contest – Face of Malaysia modeling competition took place recently at one of PJ’s most glamourous nightclubs, Paparazzi. 18 aspiring and talented models, walked the runway, strutting their stuff to represent Malaysia in the Asia Model Festival Awards in South Korea.
The Asia Model Festival Awards is an initiative dedicated to protection the rights of models, and to promote cultivation of modeling talent, throughout Asia and around the globe. Since its inception in 2006, AMFA has garnered the support from the South Korean Ministry of Culture and Tourism and various global corporations. The AMFA now includes over 20 participating countries in Asia, with models from Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Phillipines, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Thailand and Indonesia.
Throughout the night of sheer glitz and booming runway beats, tension was on the catwalk, but two models impressed the judges with not only their walk but their ability to sell the clothing they model. The group of judges consisted of winners of 2011 Asia New Star Model Contest, Wafa de Korte and Soo Xu Ze, and catwalk instructor Kit Leu.
Nightclub, Paparazzi was also in search for the Mr and Ms Paparazzi. James Ng Yin Teng and Amelia Henderson proved just how determined and talented they are, were dubbed the new faces of Mr and Ms Paparazzi.
On December 7th, the semi finals will take place where four of the finalists will be eliminated from the competition and you can contribute by voting for your favorite male or female model by liking their respective photographs on the AMFA Malaysia Facebook page.
The voting period ends at 3pm on 7 December, so start voting!
The Asia New Star Model Contest 2012 – Face of Malaysia’s Semi Finals will take place on Friday, 7th December 2012 at Stage Club, Avenue K at 9pm.
