Congratulations, you’re a mother! As women would constantly list down their own handbag essentials, we’re not forgetting the new mommies out there either. Mothers will know that a well-stocked diaper bag can save the day. So we’ve prepared a list of diaper bag must-haves for all new mothers out there!
1. Diapers and Extra Clothes
You should by now that babies require cleaning every hour or so, therefore time yourself just how long you’ll be out and carry a couple more – just in case. Clothing helps too, especially since “accidents” happen, or you think your child wild need an extra layer of clothing if it gets too cold.
2. Baby Wipes
Baby wipes come in handy to complement the process of diaper changing to clean your baby and yourself. You can’t not have enough wipes, so carry a big pack in the diaper bag, and a smaller sized pack in your purse. Don’t forget a little tub of Vaseline or a cream for diaper rashes.
3.Bottle(s) of Formula and Sippy Cups.
Never ever forget that your baby needs to be fed and kept hydrated, so if you have a bag with lots of space, don’t forget to fill the gaps in your bag with extra quantities in case of any spills, etc.
4. Pacifier and Any Comfort Items
A baby usually suckles on a pacifier to keep themselves calm, so remember to carry one and a perhaps a spare, including another item to keep your child calm and relax, especially during a diaper change or when your baby is feeling cranky.
5. Hand Sanitizer
Moments can be a little unpredictable when you’re with child and as spit-ups, drools, or spills can happen, a hand sanitizer will be an absolute life-saver to clean your hands when there’s no time or place to wash them.
6. Camera
This may not be a major priority, but we know our kids grow so fast before our eyes, so why not take every opportunity you get to capture the moments that will last forever.
