Not even A-list celebrities are safe from the watchful eye of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
The independent organization, is incharge of regulating advertisements across all media in the U.K., has come down on a Natalie Portman’s ad for Dior’s – the Dior Show New Look Mascara.
According to the Telegraph, one single complaint was filed to the ASA accusing Dior of airbrushing the ad. The compaint exaggerated that the ad advertised the effect of the “multi-dimensional volume and treatment’ mascara.
Following the complaint made, Dior has agreed to withdraw the ad without enduring a formal investigation (which would require the company to argue that the use of airbrushing was not made)
This is not the first time that the ASA have given a makeup ad a kick for misleading consumers.
