Tailoring a great resume can be a tricky ordeal. Numerous do’s and do not’s make can make it a tiresome task to craft a great resume. Here are some useful tips for you when crafting your resume so catch the attention of your recruiter!

Craft Your Resume
Tailoring a resume to fit all sorts of job applications may be convenient for you, but employers can tell a generic resume when they see one. If you’re applying for 5 different positions, spend some time to craft your resume according to the position. This could imply that you’re taking each company seriously with hopes to build your career. The same applies to your cover letter, too. (Source)

Use Important Keywords
Depending on the industry you’re interested in, do some research to look up important buzzwords that all give you the advantage of making your resume seem like you are what the employer’s looking for. Look up company corporate websites, LinkedIn profiles to look for the buzzwords. (Source)

Define Your Skills and Strength
Employers are interested in your best skills that are practical and beneficial to the company. You can include some success stories, but ensure they are brief and crafted to make you confident without bragging.  Take note from your previous jobs and get feedback from your ex-colleagues or former employers too.

Layout and Clarity
When crafting your resume, you’ll want to include all the practical knowledge, skills and activities you’ve achieved, but remember to keep it relevant according to the job description. Furthermore, use clean and classic fonts to make it easier to read. If you’re applying for a position in the  creative industries, make your resume interesting with a dash of personalized artwork to enhance your resume and portfolio. . Don’t forget to save your resume as a PDF file. It keeps the layout of your resume from going awry, which will be an added advantage for the employer as they won’t have to realign your resume for you.
