Gwyneth Paltrow is America’s superstar with a string of film awards under her belt. Known for crisp features, gorgeous long hair and her elegant and stylish approach, she’s achieved so much in life. Not only does she have an amazing slender and muscular body, she’s happily married to rockstar, who together raise two beautiful children, and she’s got her own cookbook called My Father’s Daughter, which is dedicated to her late father, Bruce Paltrow. As a toast to Gwyneth’s 39th birthday, we’ve decided to share some fun facts about the Oscar-winning actress!
1. Gwyneth was engaged to Brad Pitt, but broke off the engagement in 1997, stating as the reason the fact that neither she nor Brad could pursue their respective careers while maintaining a happy marriage. They still however, remain good friends.
2. Gwyneth is highly-protective of her children, specifically when the paparazzi is involved. However, Gwyneth isn’t one to go out on a limb to verbally or physically attack them. In fact, she’s a lot smarter than that (and quite a lady, too). In an interview with PageSix.com, she said “I keep a whole log. I take pictures of their cars, write down license plate numbers, everything. If they do it again, I can go to the police. I know my rights and, believe me, I will have them arrested. I will stop at nothing.”
3. Gwyneth started off acting with her mother, Blythe Danner who is a Tony-award winner. You may recognise her mother, Blythe in the movie Meet The Parents and its sequels, Meet The Fockers and Little Fockers with Robert Deniro.
4. Gwyneth is the kind of girl who would ditch slumber parties so she could be fresh for early morning equestrian lessons.
5. At the height of its popularity, Gwyneth describe the hit TV show, Sex and the City as “irreverent and shocking”.
6. Gwyneth named her son Moses after the song “Moses”, which was written by her husband Chris Martin for their wedding.
7. Gwyneth made her first singing debut in 2000 in the movie, Duets with Huey Lewis, who plays the role of her father in the film. They both sing the song Cruisin’ (watch here). Then, in 2010, she made her second debut in the movie, Country Strong where she plays a country singer. The movie also stars Gossip Girl actress, Leighton Meester.
8. While preparing for her role as an obese woman in the movie Shallow Hal, Gwyneth wore her fat suit to a pub on night and was disappointed by the reactions she received. She then said that overweight people should be made to feel like a joke.
