It has been quite sometime since Apple and Samsung has been on each others neck when it came to deciding which company came up with the original design and apps for their individual phones. Today, a court in South Korea ruled that both were at fault and imposed a limited ban on certain products from both companies.
Samsung Electronics Co. faced one charge of infringing Apple’s patent of the ability of the screen to bounce back while Apple Inc. faces two charges of Samsung’s patent.
Among the gadgets which were banned temporarily in South Korea were the iPhone 3GS, the tablets, the iPad, iPad2, GalaxyS1, Galaxy S2, the Galaxy Tab and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet PC’s (source).

According to BBC, the court also announced that Samsung had to pay Apple 25 million won while Apple had to pay their rival a total of 40 million won. The debate over patent issues still continues in San Jose, California where Apple is seeking more than $2.5 billion from Samsung for infringement.
Being the biggest competitors in the world of telecommunication, this was certainly a “victory for Samsung on its home territory” said patent attorney, Jeong Woo-sung.
