We had the privilage of tasting the food from the ‘Taste Of Campania’ viarity at the new Italiannies in Paradigm Mall. This menu consisted of foods from the southern region of Italy.
So what does the ‘Taste Of Campania’ menu have to offer?
Ravioli Di Mare ( Seafood Ravioli ) RM22.90
This was a dish that was so rich in flavor. If you love all things creamy, then this is a dish you will love. The raviolli was filled with a salmon paste that gave the entire dish that extra kick. The portion was just right for one person.
Spaghetti Al Catoccio ( Baked Seafood Spaghetti )RM45.90
This was a lighter dish. Strong in tomato flavours, it had a very fresh and pure taste, just like how spagetthi should be. You could say it was a little sour at certain bites, but overall, the taste was well put toether. Scattered with buttered scallops, king prawns and crab meat – it was really tasty.
Cozze E Vongole Brasati ( Braised Mussels and Clams ) RM32.90
If you are a big fan of seafood, then this dish is for you. It consists of baked musels and clams – seasoned with totamto paste and several different tyoes if herbs. But beware, there is a tinge of spicy bursts.. so if you are someone who can’t handle spicy, you will have to be careful. But it’s pretty light. The thing about seafood is that is has to be fresh.
Triglie Al Rosmarino ( Sea Bass and Rosemary ) RM35.90
Now this is a dish you could share. Baked sea-bass with pesto rice on the side. The perfect combination of flavours. The fish tasted so fresh and with the combination of the herbs, there was just much flavour bursting. Separately, the fish and the pesto rice tasted ordinary, but together, they made the best combination. If you are not a big eater, then we would suggest you to share this dish with a friend.
Seafood Gratina ( Baked Seafood Risotto ) RM42.90
If you have a love for italian cuisine, then this is a dish you will adore. Rissotto is classic italian and with dish in particular, the flavours are delightful. You can taste the herbs, especially the safron and the bechamel makes everything so perfectly creamy. Mixed together with different seafoods like prawns, musels, clams and many more!
Zabaglione RM14.90
Beware, wine is included in this dessert – and if you have a love for wine, this is a dish you will like. This dessert is like a sweet custard – with a tinge of wine added and grapes on the side. The combination of the grapes and biscotti with the custard compliments each other really well. If you try the custard on it’s own, it may seem a little too sweet – hence the side dishes. But it’s definitely a new and interesting dessert to try!
And to top off your whole meal – why not end with a nice cup of coffee! A fresh cappocino to be precise!
So, if you’re feeling up for an Italian experience, then head on over to Italiannes and try it out!
