Apart from women having a magical portal that is able to send men to an orgasmic dimension, and our ability to literally push out an entire human being from that very portal, there are so many other things that are fascinating about the female body that you may or may not already know about. I’ve written about the ridiculous myths surrounding a woman’s body (click here to read) – so why not explore some of the truly remarkable things about it too.
Women – we’re gorgeous, alluring, captivating and divine. I would like to think GOD certainly took his time in building us women. Our bodies are so much more awesome that we think. So, girls, if you look in a mirror and you don’t like what you see – lemme just say, your body is beyond perfect. Your body could do things even men can’t. Women are the sources of life, so it’s time you start loving and respecting your body!
I was in the mood for a pep talk, anyways, so here are some interesting facts about a woman’s body:
1. Women Have Stronger Immune Systems
In case you don’t already know this, females have a tendency to live longer than men – one of the reasons being that women have a stronger immune system compared to the opposite gender. Women’s immune systems are stronger in fighting off infections and bacteria. This may be a lil weird, seeing that we are tinier in physique compared to men, but our sex hormone – oestrogen – plays a part in this.
According to studies, oestrogen contributes to this by suppressing the development of an enzyme that impairs the body’s defence mechanisms against bacteria and viruses. Researchers are not fully able to understand why, but one plausible theory is that a stronger immune system evolved over time as a result of the woman’s primary role in childbirth and childcare.
2. Better Chances Of Surviving Traumatic Injury
Another possible reason why women tend to live longer is that we have a higher chance of surviving trauma and injury.
In analysing data on patients who were presented to hospitals with catastrophic injuries, researchers discovered that women between the ages of 13 and 64 had a considerably higher survival rate, compared to men. The higher amounts of oestrogen in women, which may have an improvement effect on the immune system, may again be the secret to this advantage.
3. Women Are More Flexible
The majority of ballet dancers and gymnasts are women. This is due to the fact that a woman’s body is way more flexible in several ways.
First off, women are more flexible overall because we have more elastin in our feminine muscles and tendons, the protein that allows our muscles, organs, and skin to stretch. More precisely, as a result of structural evolution to support the weight of bearing a baby for nine months, women’s lower spines differ structurally from men’s.
The female body’s lower spine curves over three vertebrae, but it curves over just two vertebrae in the male body – which provides us greater flexibility there. Last but not least, as a result of evolutionary adaptation for childbearing, women also have a wider range of motion and flexibility in the pelvis. We ain’t gon be carrying that baby for nothing boo!
4. Women Have Better Muscle Endurance Than Men
I know, men are considered the stronger species – but we women have better muscle endurance. Although males often outweigh women in terms of power, many people may be surprised to learn that women may really have more muscle endurance. According to research, women can exercise for roughly 75% longer than males during stamina-related workouts. It is hypothesised that women’s muscles are more resistant to tiredness due to the presence of oestrogen and that their metabolism is more effective than men’s.
5. A Feisty Uterus
Gurrrl, if you thought that balls and d*cks were mighty, have a moment and look back at where you came from! You were made in a uterus and pushed out through a vagina. So, you can tell how much a Uterus goes through while carrying a child for 9 months.
When a pregnant woman is having contractions, the uterus is able to give force that equates to roughly 1,938kg/m² of pressure.
6. The Clitoris Grows
The sole purpose of a clitoris is to provide a woman her ultimate pleasure. A clitoris has 8,000 nerve endings which is why, when a woman is touched in the right ways, you can have her squirming and panting out aloud.
Although three fourths of the clitoris is actually hidden and buried within the flesh, it GROWS as a woman ages. As a woman grows older, her clitoris will be four times its size when she reached puberty. And at menopause, the clitoris will be seven times its size when a woman was born.
7. Easily Gullible Creatures – Trusting Anyone Who Hugs
If you don’t already know, women are generally soft-hearted creatures and tend to easily TRUST ANYONE who hugs her for more than 15 seconds.
I am ashamed to admit this, but this is sort of true. Since my love language is physical touch, a hug can surely melt me, no matter who it comes from.
8. Women Can Detect Smell Better
I can attest to this 100%. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a woman, but my nose is extremely sensitive to smell, which is why body odours and bad breath are my biggest pet peeves.
It is challenging to suppress a woman’s perception of body odour, as behavioural neuroscientist Charles Wysocki noted in his study at the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia. In contrast, doing so seems to come naturally to men. According to experts, women are more perceptive to underarm body odour since the biological information it includes aids in dating decisions.
To determine how successfully 32 perfumes could mask body odour, a study was conducted. Nineteen of the perfumes succeeded in deceiving the male test subjects. Only two of the smells were able to successfully block the underarm pong in women.
9. Women Are More Colour-Sensitive
In other words, women can actually see more colours than men.
According to a study by Israel Abramov of Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, women have a bigger “colour vocabulary” than men. Abramov tasked both sexes with classifying hues into the categories of red, yellow, green, and blue and allocating a proportion to each.
The findings demonstrated that women were superior to men in their ability to discriminate between fine gradations. The centre of the colour spectrum is where this sensitivity was most noticeable. Women were better able to spot subtle variations in colours that males had trouble seeing.
