Naelofar is a familiar name for hijab-wearing women in Malaysia. The locally-owned modest fashion brand, founded in 2014 by Malaysian celebrity and entrepreneur, Neelofa, is an industry phenomenon. Since its inception, it has grown to become one of the most popular modest fashion brands on the market – locally and internationally – for curating premium quality scarves and garments, sold at an affordable price.
This Merdeka and Malaysia Day, in honour of celebrating all things Malaysian, the brand is unveiling its newest collection, which is based on a quintessential Malaysian heritage item – batik. It’s no secret that batik is a thing of beauty, and while the tradition of batik-making is a hundred years old, much of the dedication, skill and expertise required to create Batik is often unseen. So to celebrate and appreciate the craft, Naelofar has collaborated with Malaysian batik artist, Rosliza Muhammad of Lizza Creations Kelantan, to create The Seindah Batik Collection.
The Seindah Batik collection is made of intricately designed works of art, which showcase Malaysia’s spirit, in line with our Independence Day. It’s only fitting that the collection features two beautiful flowers of Malaysia: Kenanga and Cempaka. The Seindah Batik collection features not only headscarves and garments, but accessories as well.
