Merdeka Proton Cars Club gathering
The pioneering Proton Saga is an iconic car marque in Malaysia. Proton, our first national automaker, was the leader in producing affordable local cars for Malaysians. Although the Proton Saga is now a classic that we are all familiar with, the Proton X50 has become a crowd favourite. Pavilion Bukit Jalil will be hosting a Merdeka Proton Cars Club gathering on the 27th of August, when 140 members of the club will showcase 72 Proton X50 cars with Merdeka-themed décor. So bring along your Jalur Gemilang and show some semangat for Malaysia, ok?

No Merdeka listicle would be complete without Malaysian food, so here are some extra-sedap Malaysian dishes for you to try while you’re out enjoying the public holiday!
Enjoy some flavorful keropok lekor at Seniman, some nasi lemak at Bungkus Kaw Kaw, some delicious local favourites at Sedap by Grandmama’s or Madam Kwan’s, and then wash it all down with something sweet like a Baskin-Robbins Cendol Blast ice cream milkshake, or the well-known Kwong Wah Ais Kacang.
Don’t miss out on Teh Tarik Place‘s “Malaysiaku Specials” from August 29 through September 18, 2022, highlighting Malaysia’s best snacks, which include limited-edition Otak-Otak Ikan, Satay, Pandan Seafood, Pandan Chicken, Pepes Ikan, and more. Bring your loved ones over to celebrate Malaysia’s many delicious flavours!
