Is it just me, or do you guys also find it hard to get the perfect outfit for when you need to get physical and MOVE? Like, honey, mentally high-five me if you are a person who moves around a lot and struggles to find comfortable, breathable garments to suit your daily activities. Well, now you have one less problem to worry about, because H&M’s Move collection is here for you.
Officially launched worldwide on 4th August, H&M Move’s bold mission is to regularise sportswear and get the whole world moving, HOWEVER they move! Move that a$$, bishes!
The brand now offers a more accessible vision of sport by reframing it as a “movement”. Which makes sense, because, let’s face it – not everybody can run a marathon, but we sure as heck find ourselves running around the office, getting work done, running to our favourite restaurant to get food, etc. And that, ladies and gents, should also be considered “sport” in some way! Also, with that much movement, you need to be wearing something hella comfortable. So, H&M Move was introduced to celebrate the fact that everyone on this planet is already a Mover, moving in a multitude of ways. You, me, everyone – we’re all Movers and H&M is here to make our always-on-the-move lives so much easier.
H&M Move aims to provide the world with stylish yet functionable ‘movewear’ that will support Movers of all abilities and skills to move comfortably and confidently.
“H&M Move is a movement brand. We’re here to celebrate movement and invite the world to move. Removing barriers to sport is very much at the heart of our purpose, starting with democratising sports apparel. We provide a wide range of movewear across several categories that are stylish, functional, and of incredible value for our customers. Combined with our passion to get everybody and every body moving, together with our Movers Jane Fonda and JaQuel Knight, we are truly inspired for the journey ahead of us.” – Simon Brown, General Manager H&M Move.
H&M Move is kick-starting a global workout campaign led by Movers – fitness icon Jane Fonda and acclaimed choreographer JaQuel Knight. Jane Fonda once again takes up her role as a workout instructor and she is inviting the whole world to move and shimmy along. Alongside Fonda, JaQuel also joins in guiding this intergenerational workout to celebrate all forms of movement and Movers – from the skillful Movers to the joyfully playful ones – we’re all in this together.
40 years after the release of her first ever workout video, the Academy Award-winning actor, activist, and fitness icon Jane Fonda continues striving to make people move. Amazing!
“I’ve spent a lot of my own life getting people to move and was naturally drawn to the mission of H&M Move to get the whole world moving, I also really liked their philosophy of ‘movewear’ over ‘sportswear.’ To me, it’s not about sports or being the most athletic. It’s about giving your body the kind of movement it needs to stay healthy so it can take care of you.”- Jane Fonda.
Beautifully said, Jane! It’s not about the amount of athleticism we all “should” have in us, but it’s more towards making your body move however you want on a daily basis. And, trust me, the more you move around and get your body active, the healthier and happier you feel.
Jane is joined by fellow Mover, JaQuel, who is renowned for some of the most iconic dances of our time – not to mention, the multiple Superbowl shows he’s starred in.
“Collaborating with H&M Move felt like a great opportunity to further my personal mission to break down the barriers to movement and get the world moving and dancing. Together, we’re creating a new precedent when it comes to sport and showing that there’s no subscription needed to move.”- JaQuel Knight.
H&M Move’s ‘movewear’ offers men and women a wide selection of outfits allowing them to bounce, flex, skip and flow with ease. The first drop includes a variety of Move Essentials, including functional tops, lightweight jackets and a broad selection of tights and bras, together with items that are specifically designed for training and running. Dropping alongside that, is the H&M Move Monogram Collection – worn by Jane Fonda and JaQuel Knight in the launch film. This collection features a series of tracksuits sporting logo play and reflective detailing.
With the combination of complex technologies and innovative designs, H&M Move will present four exclusive materials that are finalised with a simple naming system. You guys just need to take one glance at the name of each material and you will understand what it does and how it’s going to help you move.
Helps pull all moisture away from your skin, keeping you comfortably dry while moving. Perfect for working out or even running errands on a hot day.
Gives you extra support, plus features a ‘no show’ benefit when lifting and stretching. We don’t wanna have a nippie or coochie slip now, do we?
It is super soft and gives you extra support while you move. It does not tug at your skin and neither is it too tight, so you can move around without restrictions.
Protects you against wind and rain and is breathable whatever the weather. Hell, yeah! I wanna be able to walk in the rain and not get wet.
All materials used to make clothing have an impact on our planet – from the production to the usage and ultimately, end of life and disposal. To reduce the harsh environmental impact, H&M Group is aiming for 100% of the materials to be either recycled or sourced in a more sustainable way by 2030.
H&M Move is almost at 85% today – starting with 99% of the polyester sourced for its assortment being recycled, and all cotton that is used in their collections being more sustainably sourced. Besides that, H&M Move is amplifying positive impact by establishing new partnerships that drive towards circularity and innovative materials of the future, with collaborations with Fairbrics and Lan zaTech, launching in 2023.
