It’s time for the Oscars! Aside from honouring the many talents and stars in the film industry, it’s also a time for celebrities to serve up some memorable red carpet looks. From the pre-show to the after-party, each celebrity would want to look their best on the red carpet. Some celebrities delivered, while some were hmmm, raising the question: Yea or nay? Here are our picks for the best and worst outfits from the 94th Academy Awards!
YEA: Lily James
The real-life Cinderella has arrived, and she looks so pretty in pink!!
NAY: Julia Vernon
It doesn’t shape the body nicely, and just looks messy. Paired with the chunky platform boots? No ma’am.
YEA: Zuri Hall
LOOK AT THE MATERIAL. The rose pattern on the dress just made this the ultimate spring dress!
NAY: Maya Rudolph
We’re all for comfort, and Maya Rudolph does look comfortable in it. It’s more like an oversized kaftan nightgown rather than a gown for the Oscars.
YEA: Kodi Smit-McPhee
This outfit has everything: the long coat, the matching jewelry, the buttons, not to mention the gorgeous baby blue colour!
NAY: Renate Reinsve
We’re just as confused as you are. Also, what’s with the beige ribbon/knot in the front?
YEA: Megan Thee Stallion
Like Meghan Thee Stallion, this dress looks SAVAGE. The boned train just makes an absolutely breathtaking shape.
NAY: Caitriona Balfe
This dress looks unfinished for some reason, like they forgot to cut off the excess fabric. And the bottom just looks like it was creased.
YEA: Zendaya
A silk button down at the Oscars? We think we LOVE it! Paired with this beautiful silver high waisted skirt with a train, it’s just an intriguing combination.
NAY: Amy Schumer
Christmas came way too early on Amy Schumer’s dress. You’ll either love it, or just feel meh about it.
YEA: Kirsten Dunst
Like the previous rosy pink dress, the blooming texture on this dress is STUNNIN.
NAY: Nicole Kidman
The top half looks just fine, but the middle part and the bottom half just look confusing. Like Caitriona Balfe’s white dress, the middle part has an odd shape that doesn’t really go with the dress.
YEA: Sofia Carson
This dress gives a new take on the classic one-shoulder dress look. It’s big, it’s black, and we love it.
NAY: Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart and Dylan Meyer are an adorable couple, but the blazer and shorts outfits are not.
YEA: Lavern Cox
Lavern Cox floated down the red carpet in this black dress with a beautiful silhouette and most importantly, DRAMA!
NAY: Maria Menounos
The belt buckle design in the middle of the dress doesn’t help the fact that the dress is the colour of a green screen.
YEA: Vanessa Hudgens
Vanessa Hudgens in a perfectly fitted Michael Kors gown with some waist cut outs is just perfection.
NAY: Venus Williams
The silver cuffs? Beautiful. Her hair? Gorgeous. But the bust area of the dress is questionable.
YEA: Lupita Nyong’o
Lupita Nyong’o really just blessed us with this Oscar-worthy golden dress. It’s almost better than her reaction to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock!
NAY: Rickey Thompson
We appreciate that he’s bringing something different and unique to the red carpet, but it still needs to look good!
