The day when all things about women and femininity are celebrated is just around the corner. International Women’s Day is a celebration of women’s cultural, political and social achievements. Strong, courageous and powerful women rule the world, period.
To complete the picture of a strong woman, you’ll need a bold makeup look as well. So, when International Women’s Day eventually arrives, try out some of the bold makeup styles listed below.
Dewy Skin
Women’s Day is all about being bold – but that doesn’t mean you have to be colourful. “Daring” may also mean getting in touch with your vulnerabilities and what it means to be a woman in the present day. Going bare with dewy and glassy skin reveals your true natural beauty, making you seem more radiant and confident. Allow your skin to breathe for a day and you’ll be amazed at how liberating it feels.
Red Lip
Red epitomises boldness. For women, red lips represent confidence and courage, especially when they want to show that they are powerful and won’t let anybody stand in their way. I adore ladies who have a fresh face and eyes – with a shade of crimson on their lips. It’s the most elegant and easiest approach to express who’s boss with the least amount of effort.
Smokey Browns
For a simple look with a touch of colour, go for smoky brown – not beige, because we’re not going for basic on International Women’s Day. The smoky appearance application method might be intimidating, but you don’t have to go overboard. To get the smouldering appearance, use a deeper brown on the lid and a lighter brown to blend outwards; and pair that with your best nude lips – and you’re good to go. We’re aiming for something simple, yet with a big impact.
Huge Cut Crease
If you have a large space on your eyelids, don’t be afraid to use it entirely. This look is inspired by 1960s mod makeup and looks particularly lovely on folks with large eyelids. Create a large cut crease on the eyes to give the illusion of larger eyes on International Women’s Day. At this point, on a day dedicated to women, one should go all out.
Colourful Eyes
On International Women’s Day, have some fun and experiment with different colours and textures to brighten up your day. If you’re not used to wearing bright colours on your eyes, March 8th is the perfect moment to start. Trying on various shades of eyeshadow will help you realise how much fun and freeing it is to express your creativity and let your inner artist shine through.
