Beauty nails are a need for those who LOVE to take photos of their hands. Sometimes, regular nails are too fugly to be even seen on the internet – and we all know the photos last forever. Well… thank God for fake nails!

There is a variety of fake nails to choose from – Press On, Acrylic, Gel and Dip Powder. For this article, we’ll be talking about the two most common fake nail choices – Acrylic and Gel.

What are Acrylic Nails?

The polishes are made up of a liquid and powder mixture that is applied with a little brush on the natural nail. The nails must first be filed and shaped. This phase aids in the creation of a more natural-looking nail. After that, you’ll need to apply a base coat to assist the polish to adhere to the nail. The polish colour can then be added. Applying a top coat to seal the polish is the final step. Each layer of polish must dry, usually with the help of a fan, which can take up to an hour, making this manicure one of the most time-consuming.

What are Gel Nails?

The manicure is split into three parts when using gel nails. As with acrylics, you must first apply a base coat to ensure adhesion. After that, you’ll apply the gel polish. Then, you’ll need to seal everything with a topcoat. It’s vital to remember that the nail must be cured under UV light for 30 seconds to 2 minutes after each phase. Without UV light, the gel ingredients will not dry properly. However, you’ll receive a lovely shiny and new look as a result of these steps, so they’re well worth it.

There are pros and cons to getting Acrylic and Gel nails – as there are with everything in life. Here are some you should note:

Pros & Cons of Acrylic Nails

  • Affordable, durable and easy to apply by nail technicians/artists
  • Long-lasting
  • Inconvenient to use at times
  • Pungent smelling while applying or removing.

Pros & Cons of Gel Nails

  • Lightweight and less pungent smelling
  • Comfortable and natural looking
  • Services are expensive and hard to find due to unpopularity
  • Could be harmful to health (customers may have allergic reactions)

Whichever nails you choose, you’re going to look FIERCE!
