With the global pandemic hitting its two-year mark, the lockdown blues has got us all feeling burnt out – and going out and socialising feels like such a chore. Even doing the bare minimum, like putting together an outfit, feels like a major chore that takes up too much energy.
Now that everything is opening up and people are going out again, your friends are pestering you to join them for a Sunday brunch; or uni campus is now open and you have to go to class. The dilemma is that going through your closet to fix up an outfit feels so draining – but at the same time, you want to look stunning. So try out these tips on how to put together a super cute outfit with minimum effort!
White tank top
The most basic of the basics, you can never go wrong with a plain white tank top. This look is perfect for you if you couldn’t be bothered to put in much effort – though pairing it with some baggy jeans, white trainers and a tote bag will give you an effortless, lazy day look. Bring along a cute cardigan just in case it starts to get chilly or if you’re going on the train (IYKYK) and adorn your features with some minimal jewellery for that clean & expensive look.
This is definitely something Bella Hadid would wear walking the streets of NYC, so try out her go-to hairstyle for this look!

Flannel
For this look, you can use the same white tank top from above – or if you have any other cute tops, you can pick those too. Go for some baggy jeans that are slightly ripped at the knees, a pair of white trainers, and layer your look with an oversized flannel shirt – try and go for neutral shades like brown or beige. To give your look a little polish, add some big hoops and a chain, maybe a pair of sunnies and a shoulder bag so you’ll look like a total baddie!
Sweater
Ah, the good ol’ sweater; super comfy, so versatile. Let me show you how you can style this basic clothing item for a simple, yet stylish look. For the first look, get yourself a pleated tennis skirt and a dickey collar which you can layer with your fav sweater. You can pair it with some white trainers, or go for a pair of mary jane heels and some over-the-calf socks. Now, for our second look, we’re not going to change much, and it’s entirely up to your liking, but if you’re not a skirt gal then opt for some flare pants. Tuck in a knit dickey collar so you can get this look without having to wear 2 layers (especially with this crazy Malaysian heat). Opt for the classic white trainers, a shoulder bag and some of your fav jewellery pieces.
Black mini skirt
This look is perfect if you want to put in a little more effort into your outfit. A must-have in every girly she, he or they’s closet, a black mini skirt holds so much versatility you could pair it with anything. Go all out in leather for this look by pairing your mini skirt with a crop top layered over with a drop-shoulder leather coat and a pair of matching heel boots and shoulder bag for that slight punk look. You can style up your hair with Bella Hadid’s go-to look or try these 2 types of braid hairstyles; the basic braid and the bubble braid.
