Probably the second-messiest part of your house – besides your room – is your closet. I’m guilty of this, just so you all know. Look, as long as the door can still be closed, it’s all fine and dandy.
However, we can’t just leave it like that for the rest of our lives (even though it’s tempting). As much as we do our own spring cleaning in our room, we need to do it in our closet as well.
Some organise their wardrobe according to colour; others just store them regardless of textures, colours and designs of the garments – which is totally fine. But we need to spruce things up in our closets and we can’t just make it look all dull and dreary when we want to look for clothes.
The way we present ourselves should be the way that we maintain our closets. That being said, here are some of the easiest organising tips for you to tidy up your wardrobe.
Hangers
If you have a lot of hanging space to hang your clothes, it’s ideal that the garments that you hang are not thick. Saving some closet space is what we’re aiming for – so, to hang your denims, sweaters and even thick blazers or coats, try these tricks:
Also, invest in sturdier wooden or plastic hangers, as flimsy ones tends to bend easily and they wouldn’t look aesthetically pleasing as well. IKEA’s Bumerang hangers are super affordable and perform the best for hanging your clothes, as the quality of the hangers are superb.
For only RM19.90, you’d get 8 excellent wooden hangers and they come in 3 sets of colours for you to choose from!

Drawers
If you have more drawers than you have hanging space – opt for small compartments to store your clothes and undergarments for easy access. Folding your laundry – as much of a hassle as it is – makes your wardrobe look a lot tidier. However, there are tricks for folding your garments the right way.
In my opinion, denim jeans are the hardest to fold because the material is a lot thicker than… say, your blouse. So, here is an easy way to fold your jeans:
Having compartments can make your life a whole lot easier as well when you want to put away your clean laundry. You would know where to put it and how to fold it without scrambling your brains. Another folding struggle is a hoodie – super thick and big that it’s just difficult to make each hoodie or sweater fold identically.
Check out this simple hack on how to fold those garments in a snap:
The perfect storage box to keep your clothes in is IKEA’s Stuk. It’s a box that comes with a divider to ensure that compartments are fitted properly for each garment. The product is super flexible as it is made out of a cloth material, so bigger pieces would fit perfectly well inside the box.
Priced at RM14.90, IKEA’s Stuk is suitable to store away any fashion piece in your drawers – from sunglasses to your undergarments.
