Attention girls, gays and theys! Drop your plans this weekend, we’re going to the Polydextrous Reopening Event. Oh, and show up in your best construction gear cause this is a costume party.
Located in Taman Paramount, PJ, Polydextrous Studios is a gender non-specific and all-inclusive collaborative space curated for anyone to explore with their creative minds – and to just have a good time. After a period of renovating the space, Polydextrous is celebrating the end of the makeover with a construction-themed costume party. How fitting!
Birthed in the midst of the pandemic, Polydextrous was founded by freelance photographer Sarah Hobbs, a young Malaysian creative who wanted to found a safe space for those from the LGBTQ+ community, as well as for drag queens to perform freely. Additionally curated to share with like-minded innovators, Polydextrous also serves as a photography studio that is now available for full day rentals.
“So I thought it’d be good to open a space for any form of expression, not just photography. Most of my friends are a part of the community and I don’t want them to feel like they don’t have a space to go to.”
The reopening night will definitely be a lively night with performances and drag acts, including Malaysian-based performers like Darren Luke, Li Yi, Miss BOOM and Miss Keisha.
