Imagine being so excited for your date with your fling or partner, you know – taking a few days to prepare your outfit for the date so you can take cute OOTD pictures with them, only to find out that you are going out for dinner and a movie… Wow, seriously? Because, unless you are Henry Cavill, I will not be hearing you out. Hence, I thought of compiling a list of 4 date ideas that are non-basic that would help all the hopeless romantics out there, so you can share this with your boo, and let them know that dinner and movies are OVERRATED!
1. Visiting Art Galleries
This is possibly the ultimate date spot to make the mood feel, I guess, a little more, romantic? Let me explain. Firstly, galleries are great to go to on an early date because they are a public space, where you can get to know the other person by having conversations about the art, ambience, and just anything. Secondly, unlike going to a movie or restaurant, galleries are not expensive. Thirdly, immersing yourself in the world of fine art and discussing the process of art making can encourage more meaningful conversations. Uh, how meditative and fun?

2. Theme Parks
Theme parks reconnect us to our childhood memories of thrilling rides, delicious food, and live entertainment, so going to a theme park is always fun at any age. And you have probably gotten a lot of the conversation out of the way for the first date idea of visiting art galleries, so theme parks are more like a second date, and second date is when the fun really begins.
Recommended by Lipstiq: 99 Wonderland Park
99 Wonderland Park is a new recreational landmark in KL, allowing you to slow down your steps and get recharged by exploring their beautiful natural landscapes. 99 Wonderland Park offers a total of 19 attractions (99 Dinosaur Park, 99 Monster Fish, 12 Zodiac Walkway, Deer Yard, 99 Malayan Tapir, etc.) and events that take place every once in a while, so you definitely do not wanna miss out on that.

3. Thrift Shopping
Thrift shopping is more than just shopping, it’s a great place for you and your boo to have a fun and cute little date. For example, you each get a certain amount of predetermined time to shop for the other person and they HAVE to wear what you pick, no matter what. Then, you leave the thrift store and go about your date without talking about it. Now, tell me this doesn’t sound different and exciting.

4. Renting E-Scooters
Rent electric scooters to make a night out of exploring urban areas in your nearest big city. If both of you are huge fans of adventurous dates and new experiences, you will definitely enjoy this one. Plus, if you are worried about going out on dates considering the current situation of the pandemic, this makes it the ideal date, as you get to social distance while you’re at it.

So, buh-bye to the dinner and movie routine, because we are officially ditching them in 2021. #Disgusting!
