There’s a new radio duo in town that will set your mornings ablaze, chatty, loud and infectious are just some of the subtle adjectives we’d use to describe them. Say hello to Red FM 104.9’s newest Morning Crew, Sarimah Ibrahim and Lil’ Kev!
Red FM 104.9 recently went through a revamp and yesterday morning they were relaunched with the tagline “Trying to be cool is so uncool”. Uh oh, we see hipsters everywhere raising their eyebrows behind their black rimmed glasses.
Red FM hopes that the pairing of Sarimah and Kevin Arokiasamy or better known as Lil’ Kev as the breakfast team will increase the number of listeners. It will be Lil Kev’s return to radio after a long 8 year hiatus. Red FM COO, Azrul Mohd Nor says that, “We are targeting a group of mature and intellectual audience in which the criteria in the possession of the two presenters. They are not only entertaining but also very smart in terms of communication.”
Sarimah is no stranger to the Malaysian public having hosted reality programmes such as The Biggest Loser Asia and Academy Fantasia, and was a familiar face on TV during the early 2000s with plenty of emceeing experience under her belt not forgetting her catchy debut song Kini Kau Tiada which was a hit when it was released. Ah and who can forget the day Lil’ Kev left radio who was once part of the most popular morning shows in Malaysian history. With such an extensive portfolio, you can best assured that your mornings will be in good hands. Sarimah and Lil’ Kev will keep you company every weekday morning from 6 to 10 am.
Other revamped segments you can expect from Red FM are The Red Zone (10am-1pm) hosted by Jeremy Teo who will provide your daily fix of gadgets and technology, followed by the lifestyle segment The Red Hub (1pm-4pm) with Linora Low who will feature everything from food, fashion and entertainment.
To take you through the evening traffic as you head home are Terry Ong and Azura Zainal, yet another spunky duo on The Red Fix (4pm-7pm). DJ Fiqrie Zahari will take seat from 7pm-10pm for On The Edge and introduce you to up-and-coming artistes, both local and international.
Finally to wrap up the day, join Mynn Lee will keep you company in The Red Room (10pm-1am) to talk about love and matters of the heart.
