No one would ever believe that Jennifer Lopez is in her fifties, all thanks to her radiant appearance and super fit physique. Apart from having amazing genes, she works very hard in ensuring her fitness regime and diet plans are well in place. The gym is by no means unknown to J Lo, but adhering to a strict diet is key to achieving a healthy and fit body. Breakfast
Jennifer usually starts off the day with a healthy smoothie. Her favorite is usually red fruit, Greek yogurt, cinnamon, honey, some ice cubes, lemon juice and a scoop of protein powder. If she’s in the mood for something different, she has oatmeal with fruits. The singer doesn’t consume any caffeine, unless it’s decaf. “I haven’t been drinking caffeine for years,” Jennifer once told Us Weekly. She keeps herself hydrated throughout the day with plenty of water.
Lunch
Jennifer often goes for a salad with lots of vegetables, salmon, peppers and zucchini. She also likes to add roasted pumpkin seeds, feta and shallots. She prefers to olive oil and lemon juice dressing for her salads. “Jennifer stays away from processed food as much as possible and gets her nutrients mainly from vegetable products,” says her trainer. Jennifer also adds a protein in her meal. She gets her source of protein from eggs, turkey, fish and chicken. She also consumes a handful of unsalted nuts on a daily basis. “Proteins are ideal for binge eating. They give me a full feeling for a long time and moreover it is the perfect fuel for your muscles,” says Jennifer.
Dinner
Her dinners are with her children when she’s home. She leans towards a protein-rich food with lots of vegetables. The singer often serves brown rice, quinoa and sweet potatoes. One of her favorite dishes is grilled chicken breast with stir-fried brussels sprouts and baked sweet potatoes. When she’s away for work, she usually eats at a restaurant while sticking to her diet. “Most restaurants do offer a few healthy meals with few calories,” she says. I then choose a salad or fish with vegetables. Of course I also ensure that I drink enough water during dinner.”
Dessert
Although Jennifer’s daily diet is super healthy, it doesn’t limit herself from indulging in her favorite dessert from time to time. “I still occasionally eat an unhealthy snack, but in moderation. I am not starving myself,” she admits. What are her guilty pleasures you might ask? Its chocolate chip cookies and chocolate chip cookies! A pie could make her mouth water too.
