Profiting from a break up

What do you do with all the gift and little knick knacks that were given by an ex lover in the name of love after a break up? For some of us, we hang on to them for keepsake hoping to translate them into stories to tell our future grandchildren many years from now while others scorned set theirs aflame to help them get over the heartbreak.

The best thing you can get out of a bad breakup is to make some money (which you can then go on a shopping spree for more new stuff to start anew, sigh, the excuses women give themselves to shop!) rather than throwing out all his gifts to you in the trash.

We don’t think there’s any point in returning his gifts because we all know they end up in the dumpster anyway so here’s a website that will pique your interest ladies, single or not. Never Liked It Anyway is a website where you can sell mementos from exes and share the tale behind it, sort of like the graveyard of failed relationships.

There are categories from clothes, music, furniture, electronics and books but most are still relatively empty (the site is still new) but there are a significant number of wedding related items up for grabs particularly wedding dresses, rings and wedding packages, all at jaw dropping prices.

This online store calls itself “the place where once-loved gifts from once-loved partners get a second chance” and is a part store part advice column as it every seller gets to share their story behind each item put on sale. The founder of the site was inspired by a breakup which she went through.

Each item comes comes with a “Real World” price which we assume is either what its valued in real life or what it was paid for and also the “Break Up” price which has been heavily discounted. Gorgeous custom made rings that are $4000 off the purchased price, 40% off bridal gowns, leather jackets at $15.

Of course, we wonder if its bad luck to own something from a failed relationship because no one wants to be subjected to the same fate!
