Need more volume? There’s a hair product for that. Need your curls to stay on rain or shine? Yep, got a hair spray for that. Notice your hair starting to thin? Here, try on this hair tonic!
Just like your skin, there’s practically a hair product for any hair predicament you’ve got and most of the time, we find that they don’t work properly not because the product is bad but because we don’t know how to apply it correctly. Here’s how you can achieve results you want without wasting more product than you should.
Don’t overspray
Using too much hair products whether its a spray or gel can cause your hair to become greasy and weigh it down making you look slimy rather than sexy. For example, when using volumizer, less is more.
In fact, instead of spraying it directly into your hair what you should do is to spritz it into your hands before running them through your hair. That way yo have more control of the amount of product with even application.
Reverse application
Your hair is naturally more thick and dense in the back so you want to apply product from the back and slowly diffuse it to the front of your head. If you start with your bangs, the finer hair may actually look weighed down and greasy which can be a killer look, literally.
Blend, blend and blend
We say this for your skincare and makeup and this is no different when it comes to your hair products. Don’t just pat on your hair serums and expect your hair to look all va va voom! Instead, start with a 20 cent or minimal amount and work them through your hair thoroughly. If you think your hair needs more nourishing then slowly add on bit by bit.
