Hair accessories make up a huge part of our childhoods, and aside from those adorable bobby pins with peculiar embellishments hot glued onto one end, we had colourful rubber hair ties and cute little butterfly clips, made popular by Britney Spears and Lizzie McGuire, a.k.a. Hilary Duff.
And now, American fashion designer and Balenciaga’s former creative director Alexander Wang is reviving an even more major throwback: the big claw clip. Featured in his Fall 2018 show at New York Fashion Week, his runway models with long hair all sported a silver claw clip, completely emblazoned with his signature logo.

The hairstylist responsible for the looks, Guido Palau, said, “I love the way that something is reintroduced into fashion and we look at it again in a different way. That’s been happening for a while now, things that were considered not cool or a bit of can be rejigged again.”
Some models were also seen sent down the runway with two claw clips in their head. Considering how influential Alexander Wang is, we have a strong feeling it’s only a matter of time before other designers or clothing brands follow suit and bring back those clips for real. What do you guys think?
