Vietnamese fare literally is comfort food at its best. Not only is everything yummy and flavourful, most of its offerings are also fresh, delicate and healthier compared to all the fat-laden junk we consume.
Our unwavering love for Vietnamese cuisine in Malaysia is evidently, and thankfully, well accommodated with all the joints readily available to us, and Aloft KL Sentral’s Nook, too, is bringing its own prowess to the table by presenting a 12-day Vietnamese Food Fest dinner buffet.
Nook’s Vietnamese Food Fest Pho You isn’t playing around as two guest chefs have been flown in all the way from Sheraton Nha Trang in Vietnam to ensure that only the best of authentic Vietnamese cuisine is offered to you, and both Chef Huu Trung and Chef Phuoc Hau have over 12 years of culinary experiences added together to bring you hand-picked signature dishes.
Served on a rotational basis, the unique dinner buffet at Nook extends a sizeable menu of Vietnamese dishes, from the classic pho (beef soup noodles) and appetisers to salads, desserts and live stations manned by the guest chefs themselves.
The live stations are no doubt the highlight as guests get to witness the chefs put their expertise to action, creating dishes like Vietnamese pancakes or the all-time favourite Vietnamese spring rolls fresh from the open kitchen. Meant to be dipped in the special sweet-spicy sauce, these Vietnamese spring rolls are not to be missed.
Amongst the comprehensive selection of chef favourites, the Vietnamese pho easily stood out and diners can also customise their pho with ingredients and herbs of their preference to tweak the flavour. Brewed for approximately 6 hours on low heat, the beef broth comprises the essence of beef bone and beef balls as well as a variety of herbs and spices. With a slant saccharinity and refreshing after-taste, the exceptional pho broth will keep you salivating for more.
The chefs also specially recommended the Beef Luk Lak (stir-fried beef), a Southeast Asian favourite, and the Vietnamese take is lighter in taste when compared to Cambodia’s interpretation of the dish. If that doesn’t fit your fancy, you can also settle for the Braised Beef with Coconut that is sensationally fragrant.
No one says no to desserts, and after your hearty Vietnamese dinner, savour the Vietnamese Green Been Dumpling that’s similar to the Chinese fried dumplings with red bean filling, except, it is much less cloying. Aside from the Vietnamese fare, the buffet also showcases international and local dishes, so it can really be a bang for your buck.
With two menus presenting 12 mains, five desserts and seven appetisers on rotation, Nook’s Vietnamese Food Fest Pho You at Aloft KL Sentral is priced at RM188 per adult and RM59 per child. Available for a limited time only beginning November 10 to November 22, reservations can be made via +603-2723-1188 or online.
