Most KL-lites have probably driven up to Genting Highlands in their lifetime just to hang out at Starbucks or take a breather in the cool breeze without a specific aim in mind. Best of all? Parking was always free.. until now that is.
Beginning October, the car parks throughout Genting Highlands have started charging for parking. The fees as of now are as follows – Weekdays: RM5 a day; Weekends or Public Holidays: RM8 a day. That’s not the worst part about the news though..
According to reports, Genting Highlands will start charging hourly parking fees from January 2018 – Weekdays: RM2 per hour with a maximum fee of RM12 per day; Weekends and Public Holidays: RM3 per hour with a maximum rate of RM18 per day.
Genting Rewards card members will still be able to enjoy free parking up until October 31st, but from November 1st to 31st December 2017, the free parking will only be entitled to those with a Gold card members and above.
Guess we will now have to think twice about taking leisure trips up to Genting Highlands..
