Emma Watson has long been an advocate for sustainable fashion, and just recently, she started an Instagram account The Press Tour to share with the public the background on all the brands she chooses to wear and show people how they, too, can be committed to becoming more eco-friendly as far as our style choices are concerned.
Echoing Watson’s fight for sustainability is a generation of concerned individuals who are re-shaping our culture by living kinder and in a more ethical manner. One way they are doing so is by being animal-free eaters, as well as straying away from any kind of product that consists of animal-derived ingredients or condones animal cruelty.
Similarly, high-end German screwless eyewear label ic! berlin hopes to champion sustainability via its latest collection of vegan, organic, fair-trade, non-GMO eyewear, constructed with ic! berlin’s latest hybrid construction method and custom acetate laminates named after cruelty-free and meatless foods such as A for asparagus and D for dragon fruit.
The VegeTarian collection is put together by ic! berlin and none other than the company’s ex-bookkeeping intern Jeremy Tarian, who went on to study at Parsons School of Design in New York, and has also won two Silmo d’Or awards, a French award that acknowledges creativity in profession.
The ic! berlin x tarian eyewear collection is now available for purchase throughout Malaysia. Each frame retails for RM1,980 and comes in a unique packaging and polishing cloth.
