We’re going to be honest here. When we first heard of terrarium eye makeup, we instantly cringed. Blame it on the disaster that was the barbed wire brow trend or the ballander situation which arose last month, marking a result of internet beauty pros trying to outdo one another.
However, once we saw said terrarium eyes created by 19-year-old Instagrammer Ellie Costello, we were instantly mesmerized, because they’re seriously pretty AF. Check out the awesome look below:
Mind-blowing, right?
The self-taught UK-based makeup artist uses real flowers, leaves and stems (often from her mother’s garden) to decorate her eyelids, adorning the entire look with paint splatters for added effect. And honestly, as much as we loved our signature cat-eye look, this terrarium eye makeup really takes the cake.
Now, as we mentioned, this look is certainly not for the wobbly handed or for anyone who sweats a lot.
It’s also probably not suitable for everyday wear, mostly because we worry about the petals falling off midway through your lunch break, or giving everyone in your office a hell of a time to concentrate on their work, since they’ll be fixated on your eyes.
But if you do have a special occasion coming up and you’re good at sticking things to your face, then you should definitely opt for this look!
