Beauty vloggers and influencers are consistently trying the most far-out trends to try out, in the name of experimental beauty. If you think you’ve seen it all, you’re about to get blown away (or physically mad) by this trend of using tampons to apply foundation.
Before the tampon-as-blender vlogger came along, there was Laila Tahri, who used a condom to apply her makeup (which was still okay, all things considered), this person who thought doing her makeup with food was a great idea (it’s not), and, of course, the 100 layer makeup challenge that was the stuff of nightmares.
Of course, like Snickers for contour sticks, the idea of using a tampon to apply makeup is not entirely practical. L.A. based beauty vlogger Ashley Blue DeFrancesco, who posted the video on her Instagram account last week, acknowledged that, at least, in the caption for the clip.
Of course, Ashley discovered soon enough that tampons don’t make the best beauty blenders since, IDK, they’re 100% made of cotton? The material absorbs too much product ( talk about ultra wastage) and its textured surface isn’t ideal for blending makeup to a smooth finish.
Also, tiny cotton particles and liquid foundation are not a good combination. Nobody needs the extra peach fuzz or wasting away perfectly good foundation in the name of beauty experiments.
Bottom line – stick to beauty blenders. You don’t need/want the extra hassle while trying to look like a goddess.
