Okay, we’ve found our new girl crush, and she genuinely has a lot of mix! 🌴
Looks like Faiz Subri and Pete Teo weren’t the only ones making waves in the international scene recently, as 20 year-old Soraya Jansen, a model of Malaysian descent, was chosen as the first female model to walk at Vivienne Westwood’s AW17 menswear runway show at London Fashion Week yesterday.
For Vivienne. Westwood.
On top of being chosen to walk the runway, the German/Malaysian mixed-race androgynous model expressed in an Instagram post that she felt extremely fortunate and proud to be opening for Vivienne Westwood’s London Fashion Week show.
She marked the momentous occasion with a posting that read: “This show has been my dream since I started modelling 2 years ago. I am so proud to say that a Malaysian was the first girl out for @viviennewestwoodofficial.”

Despite being relatively new to the industry, Soraya Jansen who stands a towering 1.78m tall is represented by Nevs Modelling Agency in London already has garnered a wealth of modelling experience by featuring in lookbooks, fashion editorials, presentations and runway shows including Ashish’s SS17 Show and Casely-Hayford London Show, according to her portfolio.
This is a really big deal in fashion terms, especially for fashion enthusiasts in Malaysia. It is reported that Soraya Jansen currently resides in London, and is a student of fine art photography at the Glasgow School of Art, when she’s not too busy modelling.
You do you, Soraya. We wish you all the best! ❤️️
