Based in Malaysia, Monsoon Lab has made waves in the gaming world with its newly developed interactive game for Halloween Jam, called Sara Is Missing (SIM), dubbed as the best horror game of the year by international gaming sites. Just how creepy can this mobile game be, you ask?
Sara Is Missing (SIM) is a cleverly designed horror/mystery game crafted for smart phones, where users will find themselves having to comb through a cell phone they’ve found in an attempt to locate its missing owner who has disappeared under mysterious circumstances – Sara.
It is entirely up to the lost phone’s lucky founder to start operation 411 and investigate the files, messages, videos and emails, as well as receive calls, chat with people, and try to piece together corrupted data with the assistance of the phone’s Siri-inspired AI, aptly named IRIS.
The premise of Sara is Missing (SIM) is simple but brilliant. Its gameplay features an Android-style interface on a damaged phone, making the overall game experience feel creepily real, it’s almost hard to remind ourselves that it’s just a simulated game. Caution: Do not play if you have a faint heart.
Sadly, the game is only available on Android for now. But it’s fine, iOS users shall wait.
