It’s November and you know what you should be prepared for–the inevitable Monsoon season. This year, it seems like the city might see flash floods again ultimately in low lying areas such as Segambut, Gombak, Lembah Pantai, Bangsar, Petaling Jaya, Cheras and Jalan Kuching.
On top of heavy downpours and blocked sewerage system, poorly maintained drainage in the surrounding areas of construction work zones such as MRT could develop higher chances of flash floods in the city too.
The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) are preparing for the worst by placing over 900 personnel on stand-by while equipping them with boats and amphibious vehicles to rescue, evacuate and help flood victims in Kuala Lumpur.
With that, city dwellers are advised to keep their important documents safe and be prepared for evacuation, just in case.
