20,000 enthusiastic music runners flagged-off at the Sepang International Circuit

The Music Run™ by AIA Vitality brought back the fun to Kuala Lumpur for the third year running as 20,000 Music Runners™ ran and danced through a 5km route pulsating with various music genres at the world-renowned Sepang International Circuit.

Split into five 1km Music Zones – Rock, Pop, Old School, Hip Hop and Dance, The Music Run™ has since been experienced by over 100,000 participants across nine countries around the globe. Since its Malaysian debut in 2014, presenting sponsor AIA Bhd. has been instrumental in the growth of The Music Run™.

Malaysian pop-sensation De Fam enthralled Music RunnersTM with their electric performance before the run

The event kicked off at 3.30pm with a pre-party featuring girl group De Fam who pumped up the pre-race energy levels amongst the crowd, and ended with a Music Festival, complete with entertainment, food and drinks, as well as exciting activities at the Music Village.

Music Runners™ ran the track which was lined with over 120 speakers, delivering hit songs across all the music-themed zones. Thanks to Spotify and its Music Voting App, the hit songs played during The Music Run™ by AIA Vitality were chosen by participants who voted for their favourite tracks leading up to the event.

On top of the adrenaline-pumping music, Music Runners™ were also entertained with different activities and photo opportunities at the each music zone, such as posing with Harley Davidson bikes at the Rock Zone, a roaring foam party at the Dance Zone, and a Graffiti Wall at the Hip Hop Zone.

Amongst the slew of fun activities at the Music Village included the AIA Vitality Bag Jump and Dance-Off, AirAsia Dunk Tank, Berjaya Climbing Wall and Sumo Football. As the sun set, Australian DJ Sam Withers took over the decks, further elevating the Music Festival with his expertly-remixed dance tracks.

This year, Music Runners™ also got to indulge in the AIA Vitality Takeout by Chef Malcolm Goh, an award-winning chef. He curated two low-calorie healthy meals for Music Runners™ to replenish after the run and a total of 3,000 packs were prepared and sold out completely.
