Emma Watson is no stranger to campaigning about equality. She successfully launched her He For She campaign two years ago, and even took a year off from acting to focus on her feminism work.
She recently collaborated with Global Goals to put together a video called Hurdles. With Emma providing the voiceover, the video shows women literally jumping hurdles in the 1964 Olympics, as a metaphor to celebrating all the other ‘hurdles’ that we have successfully overcame in the past.
Sia’s “Chandelier” proved to be an excellent choice of soundtrack, it even gave us goosebumps!
Towards the end, the video makes a note about other hurdles that we still need to conquer, like child marriages, girls who have no access to education, and how one in every three women experience violence.
“The race is still on—every day of every year of our lives. But we will cross the finish line. No one can stop us. Equality. Now.” Watson says as the video comes to an end.
