Hollywood superstar Matt Damon and talkshow host Jimmy Kimmel have a long-standing rivalry between them.
This rivalry goes back a long way, from Matt Damon being cut off from Kimmel’s show, and then Damon hijacking Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he tied up Kimmel in the back and changed the show to Jimmy Kimmel Sucks. The two even went for couples therapy to work things out, but no to avail.
All in the name of fun, of course.
Just when we thought it was all over, Matt Damon made a surprising appearance at the 68th annual Emmy Awards, in time to roast Jimmy Kimmel. Just as Kimmel lost the talk show category ‘Variety Talk Series’ to John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight, his arch-nemesis Matt Damon comes onstage to rub it in.
“So, you’re not going to get a trophy?” the 45-year old Jason Bourne actor asked, while taking a bite of an apple. “No, I don’t get a trophy, then,” Kimmel replied, clearly annoyed. “Are you finished? You done?”
Eventually, Matt Damon felt sorry for Kimmel and said, “I’ll see you at the after-party!” A forlorn Kimmel revealed that he was not invited to any such thing!
