Amidst all the anticipation at the Rio Olympics, the Malaysian Dota team Fnatic won US$1.4 million (RM5.6 million) at the annual Dota 2 world tournament in the United States. The match was played at a stadium in Seattle and live-streamed to millions of people around the world.
Team Fnatic, as they are known, consists of Chai Yee Fung (Mushi), Yeik Zheng Nai (MidOne), Khoo Chong Xin (Ohaiyo) and Adam Erwann Shah (343), and Djardel Jicko Mampusti (DJ) from the Philippines. They came in fourth at the world tournament, defeating top teams from Europe and Asia.
The International Dota 2 tournament is one of the biggest e-sports tournaments around the world, and we’re happy to see a bunch of Malaysians doing us proud. Thank you, guys!
