Who doesn’t love a good music festival where you can dress up, put on fancy makeup, dance around and let loose with your best-est friends? With that said, there are many things out there than can hamper your experience, like rain, mosquitos, dehydration, and more.

Here’s a list of must-haves to pack if you’re heading out to a any sort of festival anytime soon:

Poncho & extra clothes

This is probably the most important thing for you to pack. Keep that poncho on standby no matter how good the weather forecast is. If you’re outdoors, there is a risk that you might get caught in the rain. And you want to stay dry!

Ziploc bag

It’s best to keep all your phone, cards and cash in a ziploc bag, so they’re safe from the rain or any unwanted spills in your bag. It also makes it easier to retrieve them.

Power bank

Your smartphone will die sooner than you think, and you won’t be able to take photos, update Snapchat or Facebook, and do video recording. Also, the last thing you want is to be stranded alone without battery while your friends are partying elsewhere. Bring your charger too, but a power bank works faster and is more convenient.

Sunscreen

Before heading out of your room, make sure to slather on sunscreen to protect your skin from those harmful rays. You want this to be a fun experience, without having to worry about your skin burning and peeling off the next day!

Mosquito repellant

Mosquitos are the worst; they are sneaky, stealthy and attack you out of nowhere. Prepare in advance – spray on some repellant before heading to the venue so you can enjoy the concert without the incessant scratching.

Mat & umbrella

Music festivals usually start in the evening and can last all night long. You might get tired after a couple hours, but that is no reason for you to call it a night. Spread out a mat and enjoy a couple of drinks with your besties.

It would help to carry a little umbrella to protect you from the scorching heat of the sun, or from the pouring rain.

Bonus tip: You can replace the umbrella with a stylish, floppy hat.

Water bottle

With all the sweating and shrieking, nothing is more important than keeping yourself hydrated. A lot of people pass out at festivals due to dehydration, so learn from their mistakes. Some festivals may not allow you to bring your own, so make sure to purchase a bottle as soon as you get in.

Bonus tip: An iced water bottle also helps you lower your body temperature when placed at the back of your neck.

Oh, and remember to hold on to it until you find a trash can. Don’t litter!

Wet wipes & hand towel

As the ambience go from evening to night, the humidity level changes and it might cause you to feel sticky and uncomfortable. Don’t let that get in the way. Use wet wipes to freshen yourself, and have a small towel at hand to keep you dry. Also, the wet wipes will come in handy at the portable toilets.

Lip gloss

What’s a day out at a music festival if you don’t take pictures to document the memories? Unless you’re wearing a super matte lipstick, keep an emergency lip gloss in your bag for those selfies to look fresh and vibrant. Also, don’t forget to wear those shades!

Have fun! 😀
