A massive downpour in Penang over the last couple of days have caused dreadful floods in the city, including the Penang International Airport.
At least 12 flights had to rescheduled after the terminal was flooded. The halls were reportedly flooded with water levels reaching up to 0.3 m at about 5 pm.
There was also a massive traffic jam and the arrival area of the airport, and water was even seen overflowing as far out as the roundabout just outside the airport.
Apart from the Penang International Airport, other areas affected by the floods in Penang are Permatang Damar Laut, Teluk Bahang and Batu Ferringhi.
Heavy rainfall also resulted in flooding in several areas on the island including Permatang Damar Laut, Teluk Bahang and Batu Ferringhi. Teluk Bahang took the most hit, with about 300 houses affected by the floods.
