The former girlfriend of controversial Sumptuous Erotica sex blogger Alvin Tan Jye Yee – Vivian Lee May Ling – has been sentenced to six months in jail by a Sessions Court for sedition over an insensitive mock greeting on Facebook featuring bak kut teh during the Muslim fasting month.
The sentence runs from Friday onwards. Having said that, the judge granted the defence’s application for the jail term to be reduced to five months and 22 days after taking into consideration the eight days she had been remanded.
Bail was also increased from RM10,000 to RM20,000 pending an appeal.
