Malaysians, this is exciting!
The development of Merdeka PNB118, that’s part of the Warisan Merdeka mixed development venture by Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) on the site of the old Merdeka Park, was announced this week by PM Najib Razak.
Phase one of the project includes a shopping mall which is rumoured to be the new icon of Malaysia. This 118-storey skyscraper is expected to be the tallest building in Malaysia and the 5th tallest in the world. The building also includes a 6-star hotel of 236 rooms, 82 floors of office space and a sky lobby. The mall will feature with 200 stores and a cinema with 12 halls. This phase alone will cost RM5 billion.
The architecture style for the building seems to be inspired by The Burj Khalifa. What say you?
