New budget airline Rayani Air Sdn Bhd commenced operations in 20 December 2015, and just after a short few months, the airline company is now at risk of suspension by the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia (DCA) due to ridiculously poor services.
On the 19th of March 2016, a Rayani Air customer named Lau Weng San shared a photo of his flight boarding pass on Facebook. Much to our dismay, the details on the pass seem to be handwritten. Lau captioned the photo: “Ini manyak terror punya boarding pass. Tangan tulis punya, manyak lawa punya. Satu dunia talak, hanya Malaysia ada.”
Honestly though, would you have faith in an airline company or trust it with your life in the air if you were handed such a boarding pass? We’d think twice; maybe 500 times. Okay, HECK NO!
The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) will reportedly investigate Rayani Air for the alleged handwritten boarding pass as the handwritten tickets may be due to a system failure. If there are more complaints, the DCA may suspend Rayani Air’s services for not adhering to standards set by them.
On February 9, Rayani Air was already issued an official warning after one of its Langkawi-Kuala Lumpur flights was cancelled, leaving hundreds stranded in Langkawi. It was caused by a shattered windshield in the cockpit of one of the airline’s Boeing 737 aircraft.
