In December 2015, many people, including celebrities like Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian and Zac Efron, signed up for the ‘2015 Best Nine’ feature which generated your most popular Instagram posts throughout the year. Of course, it was lovely to see and to be shown off to all of your followers.
But, some scary news has emerged, and it turns out that everyone who signed up for the ‘2015 Best Nine’ feature may have inadvertently signed themselves up for a dating app called Nine. Yeap, about 70 million people have been fooled.
After keying in your Instagram handle on the ‘2015 Best Nine’ generator, there was a prompt that asked if you wanted to be in a waiting list for an undisclosed service. Well, that undisclosed service is Nine.
This app is based on the concept of using nine of your Instagram photos to create a collage and to put it bluntly, this sums up who you are. Nine’s first users are the 100,000 people who chose to join the undisclosed waiting list. Also, you don’t get a choice of nine photos, the photos displayed are really just your best nine.
So, do you remember clicking “yes” on the prompt?
