While most of us are still brooding over the fact that we won’t be seeing the witty and sarcastic Chandler in the upcoming FRIENDS reunion, producer Martha Kauffman dashed all hopes saying that there is no reunion happening in the first place.
What is happening is a tribute to director James Burrows (above), together with casts from other TV series that Burrows has directed over his long career. The worst part is (please sit down for this) that it won’t even be filmed in Monica’s lilac coloured apartment!
David Schwimmer, who played the hopeless romantic palaeontologist Ross Geller, also confirmed this in an interview with E! He said that he is thrilled to be a part of the tribute, as James Burrows is a director whom “we all love”. This tribute-cum-documentary will also feature casts from Frasier, Will and Grace and Cheers, not exclusive to FRIENDS. Some other notable shows that Burrows has directed over the years are Two and a Half Men, 3rd Rock from the Sun and The Big Bang Theory.
Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc, however, seemed pretty positive about a reunion on their twitter accounts, saying that it “Should be a good time!”. Matthew Perry, who is away, will introduce the show from all the way from London where is set to make his West End debut on the 2nd of February, at the Playhouse Theater.
It’s true what they say, all good things must come to an end.
